Chela Mitchell is a Washington, DC native, gallerist, and founder of Chela Mitchell Gallery one of the few Black-owned galleries in the country. After working in New York’s fashion world, she returned home to build what she felt was missing: a space for emerging artists and new perspectives to thrive. Today, her gallery stands at the center of DC’s evolving creative scene.
