Insight
Prince George’s County has produced more elite basketball talent per capita than anywhere else in the world. But the story behind that phenomenon had never been told with the cultural depth it deserved. The game was known. The community was not.
Challenge
The documentary needed cinematic, community-embedded visual storytelling that could capture PG County authentically: not as a backdrop, but as the subject. That required a team with real roots in the culture and a documentary eye that could find the story in everyday moments.
Approach
Zuri’s creative team Director Simon Kim and Director of Photography Darius Lyles contributed to the cinematic vision behind Basketball County: In the Water.
